Lockheed Martin
Flying a helicopter from the show floor

CHALLENGE //
Lockheed Martin company Sikorsky developed cutting edge Optimally Piloted Vehicle (OPV) technology for its helicopters and needed a high impact way to demonstrate it for the military's top decision makers.
SOLUTION //
Sikorsky allowed select AUSA attendees to remotely command a real Black Hawk helicopter from the show floor. While the AUSA exposition was in Washington, DC, the Black Hawk helicopter was flying 300 miles away in Connecticut. A massive video screen at the Sikorsky AUSA exhibit showed simultaneous real time video feeds of the commands being given to the helicopter from the show floor via touchscreen tablet, the inside of the helicopter cockpit, and a ground view of the helicopter's flight path.
RESULT //
AUSA attendees packed the show floor in front of the video screen to witness the history making helicopter demonstrations. These live demonstrations generated a massive amount of buzz not just on the show floor, but also in social media, news media, and industry websites.
